After watching Miss Representation, I was curious to see if there had been any follow-up about how media presents women in the current day. Even though Miss Representation was produced only eight years ago, our consumption of media, specifically social media, has changed drastically. Even the ideal body type for women has drastically shifted from skeleton thin like Paris Hilton to an hourglass curvier figures such as the Kardashians. Although I was not able to find what I was looking for, I did stumble upon another Netflix documentary that relates to our class called "Feminists: Where They Thinking." The documentary examines the women's movements in the 1970s through photographs of notable individuals and moments while simultaneously contrasting the culture then with modern day. I haven't had a chance to watch it but I am hoping to soon. Here's the link to the trailer for those who are interested!
